Here is an example of how fossil marble slabs are “polished” (coated with resin) and made for tables or decorative pieces. They dont do the best work since usually when you turn the table over there are hardened resin droplets hanging down. These marble slabs are sold world wide by many dealers and are even in some of ancient europes churches. The fossils found within this marble are Orthoceras (prehistoric Squid) and Goniatite (Ammonite, prehistoric Nautilus).

Question by Jodi B: HELP! the top to my marble-topped table broke!?
I mean it SHATTERED! A replacement piece of marble is $ 200 for 3/4 in thickness X 18 in. wide x 3 feet….the base is still quite pretty, made from an antique Singer sewing machine…any ideas on a replacement top that won’t break the bank?

Question by saturn: I am looking for a victorian style coffee table set with white marble top.?

I have an old marble top table that I have just refininshed and I was wondoring what home product I could use to clean/polish the marble. It is a bureau so its not used in either the kitchen or the bathroom.

Auto wax works great.Cl en it with glass cleaner first,then put a coat of wax on it.
