I mean it SHATTERED! A replacement piece of marble is $ 200 for 3/4 in thickness X 18 in. wide x 3 feet….the base is still quite pretty, made from an antique Singer sewing machine…any ideas on a replacement top that won’t break the bank?

A big bottle of crazy glue and a lot of time and patience.

If you do it yourself, you might be able to get marble or granite tiles and save money there. You’ll need an edge of some kind. The tiles will only be ~1/4″ thick, so you’ll need to build up to get to 3/4″. You can probably do that with a piece of plywood.

Glue it together with SUPERGLUE! I had a lamp that broke once and I glued all the pieces back together (at least the ones I hadn’t eaten already). When I was done the lamp looked very artistic. I used it for a week before someone smashed it on the floor again. So i just ate the rest of it. Don’t eat the wet SUPERGLUE though. It doesn’t taste well.
