ok i have an antique marble top table…it was my great grandmothers and it means A LOT to me…and it worth A LOT of money…it is real marble on the top and the wood is hand carved…what can i use to clean this? i DO NOT want to take away from the value…i am an antique freak and i cherish it…what can i use that wont hurt it!

Murphys on the wood portions and not much will hurt real marble but I would stay away from anything abrasive.

Question by Deana Damnitt: where to find sketches of various antique table legs for identification?
I have tables and I don’t know what style they are. They are of a lighter wood with leather inlay type surfaces. one is round with one drawer one is a coffee table and one is a two layer type ,with the top part being a triangular or corner shape.the legs are somewhat simple.

If you’re interested in selling it then you’ve got e-bay. Send clear pictures covering all angles with a complete description and ask for an evaluation. Take at least 5-10 offers. Also ask any professional antiques dealer in your town for the true value.

Question by Irbas: How do I care for the marble on an antique, marble-topped coffee table?
The coffee table is an antique that I inherited. It’s in good condition, and all I’ve been doing is dusting the marble top for about 15 years. I realized I perhaps should be doing something else and would appreciate guidance.

Marble is stone. Just clean w/ damp rag or household cleaning like 409 or Fantastic.
