I want to buy rosewood furniture, dining set, sofa set, swing etc. The one I want is inlaid and carved with elephant. Which expo and city I should visit in India? Thx!

You can find wooden handcrafted furniture in the trade fairs like the one organized at Pragati Maidan in Delhi or Surajkund Mela in Haryana. However, this year there is no crafts fair left to be organized. However, a shopping festival cum crafts fair is to be organized in Gurgaon on the lines of surajkund crafts fair during the 2010 Commonwealth Games (CWG) to be held in Delhi. A pre-shopping festival would also be organized in February 2010 in Gurgaon itself in order to assess the arrangements needed for this October trade event. You can try and find good furniture there.

I have a round marble table top that is 42″ in Diameter and an inch thick weighs about 150-200 lbs if not more. It is currently on an old wooden base and is a coffee table. I am looking into making it a dining room table and need to know want material would be the best for a base.

You need to use 3/4″ plywood. It needs to be perfectly level so the stone won’t crack.

bought a very nice, HUGE dresser from Goodwill, which has a real marble top. Once it was delivered, I realized a huge chunk was missing out of the marble on the front-right corner I figure the best fix would be some kind of clay, etc….something that could mold to the existing marble, since the edges are really jagged. I prefer the entire ‘fix piece’ to be black and glossy when all is said and done. Any ideas as to what material to use?

I found this, it is called “marble filler”

You can always use some glossy black touch-up paint to cover the patched area.
