Question by saturn: I am looking for a victorian style coffee table set with white marble top.?
I have a picture of this table and can send it to anyone who may be able to help me find it. I live in suburbs of Chicago and looking for a furniture store where I may be able to buy this from.

Question by Ferosia: How to remove tile inlay from coffee table?
I just bought this coffee table that has 4 -12″x12″ tiles inlayed into the top. It is a really out dated tile that I would love to replace with a more up to date style. How can I safely remove the tile without damaging the wood around it?

Break the tiles with a hammer. Start at the center and make a spot where you can get under the edges of the tiles. Use a chisel or wide screw driver to pry up the old tiles. They’re probably just glued down in a few spots and will come up easily.

If you’re interested in selling it then you’ve got e-bay. Send clear pictures covering all angles with a complete description and ask for an evaluation. Take at least 5-10 offers. Also ask any professional antiques dealer in your town for the true value.

The coffee table is an antique that I inherited. It’s in good condition, and all I’ve been doing is dusting the marble top for about 15 years. I realized I perhaps should be doing something else and would appreciate guidance.

Marble is stone. Just clean w/ damp rag or household cleaning like 409 or Fantastic.

clean it with a warm rug, then dry it; spray some windex and dray it again.it will shine!!!.

Go to the home improvement store and get the TileLab stain remover kit. If the stains have hazed and the shine isn’t there any more, you really have to use the heavy duty poultice method to pull out the etch. Unfortunately, the regular marble cleaners don’t work once acidic or minerals have permeated the marble (wine is absolutely the worst). I have a lot of stone in my house, everything from limestone, to polished and tumbled marble to granite and the marble “refinishing” kit in the TileLab product is not only the easiest to use but the most economical.
