You can find wooden handcrafted furniture in the trade fairs like the one organized at Pragati Maidan in Delhi or Surajkund Mela in Haryana. However, this year there is no crafts fair left to be organized. However, a shopping festival cum crafts fair is to be organized in Gurgaon on the lines of surajkund crafts fair during the 2010 Commonwealth Games (CWG) to be held in Delhi. A pre-shopping festival would also be organized in February 2010 in Gurgaon itself in order to assess the arrangements needed for this October trade event. You can try and find good furniture there.

Question by Eric D: what kind of furniture do I have?
I have what I believe to be a dry sink. It is a table with six legs. When closed, the table looks like it has four legs. When you pull out the drawer (with two legs) the drawer has a dry sink (two wash pans inlaid in the drawer). It has a 1950′s blue-green top. I found it in Germany. Any ideas as to what I have?

Was told someone was commissioned by 101st Airborne to make these for Vietnam Era Paratroopers. Has a marble inlaid top and folding end panels.

I always try to find the item or one similar to it on ebay.com. Search the ended auctions to find out what items have sold for in the past. This will help you to know what things are approximately worth now without going through the hassle of having someone appraise them.

Question by carolynscottage1: how much are my Huntley plagued mahogany dressers worth? anyone know?
Bought in San Diego 10 years ago, both for $ 200 ..in great condition and are very heavy solid wood with dove tailed drawers and inlaid designs along the sides. The plaque says only Huntley Furniture Co. Any information on it would be appreciated. Thanks

hang on to them whatever you do
right now they are probably worth at least 30% more
than what you paid. furniture companys are not making mahogany anymore and i know that for a fact. a piece of mahogany is a treasure now. the fact that they are solid mahogany makes them very valuable.

Most of what they call rope trim is really carved in wood, not actual rope.
