This is a black marble table top (48 inches accross) that has been inlaid with mother of pearl stones. The people at the shop in India said it takes about 18 to 24 months to complete a table of this detail.

Danny-

Are you confident enough to do it yourself?
-Go to a hardware store and purchase a diamond core drill bit (Home Depot sells Ridgid bits $ 10 – $ 30 depending on size) Use plenty of water and keep the drill perpendicular to the table top.

If you are not comfortable doing it yourself, call several granite counter top shops and get quotes for the job. They will need to send someone out, unless the table is small and light enough for you to take it their shop.

Call around to a couple of shops. See if you can get them to guarantee the work (replace the table top if they damage it).

Question by saturn: I am looking for a victorian style coffee table set with white marble top.?
I have a picture of this table and can send it to anyone who may be able to help me find it. I live in suburbs of Chicago and looking for a furniture store where I may be able to buy this from.

Question by Kenny K: How do you properly clean a marble table top?
I have a marble table and it has water marks from glasses and other marks all over it. I bought the special cleaner for marble counter tops but it is not doing anything. Do I need to by the special polish? No matter how hard I scrub these marks will not disappear? Please let me know any ideas you may have. Thanks.

I have the same issue with my marble top coffee table. The problem is that it was not sealed properly. All I can suggest is that you remove the marks as best you can and them seal the marble before there’s any more damage. I used a Mr.MagicEraser on my table and it removed some of the stains, but not all. Good luck.

Question by GateGirl: What would be the best material to hold a marble table top?
I have a round marble table top that is 42″ in Diameter and an inch thick weighs about 150-200 lbs if not more. It is currently on an old wooden base and is a coffee table. I am looking into making it a dining room table and need to know want material would be the best for a base.

You need to use 3/4″ plywood. It needs to be perfectly level so the stone won’t crack.

Question by Joe Smith: how do i seal a metal inlay into wood table top?
i have a 39 inch round piece of metal that i cut an image into on a cnc plasma cutter. i want to inlay this into a cedar table and i don’t know what to seal it with. i was thinking some sort of epoxy, any suggestions?

Contact edhesive……epoxy cracks because the wood can flex.
